White Meadows Primary Academy

Project Description

As a seaside school with a swimming pool it is a necessity to educate the children on the themes of ‘Water Safety At The Beach’ and ‘Water Safety At The Pool’

White Meadows commissioned Social Fabric to create two fabric books which would teach the themes through the process of making the book – discussion, drawing, print making – as well as providing a learning resource for future students to benefit from.

Children from Nursery through to Year 6 were actively engaged in the project.

“I planned a major art project with Sarah in 2013 & 2014She was able to work with me to develop a plan for the budget we had. The chosen project was about water safety both in our swimming pool and also at the seaside. Sarah had a lovely, positive manner with children and was able to inspire them creatively.
She even coped well when we lost water in the room she was working in through building work!!
The two pieces of art produced (fabric books) look amazing and have been on display near our front entrance all this year. I can whole heartedly recommend Sarah to you as an artist who helps pupils develop their creative skills from Nursery right through to Y6.”
