We’re Still Standing
Many of you have supported and collaborated with Cloth of Gold for many years and we are so very grateful for your continued support. We would like to reassure you that despite the name change we are still very much the same as always, busy (hopefully) inspiring people across communities, schools and corporate environments with our unique methodology of skill based creativity, expertise and joy for bringing people together and brightening up environments with colour and texture and passion… we are definitely enjoying many fabulous opportunities to get inky at the moment!
The New Name
Social Fabric was chosen as a name because it describes the work we create. We like people, we work socially, we are printers…we print a social fabric. Our outcomes are a social legacy to the input from the 10’s to 100’s of people who come together with each artwork to collaborate creatively and make something beautiful.
A Brief History
Cloth of Gold was started in 1992 by Tony Minnion & Anna Ferrie collaborating with a range of freelance artists. Sarah Pimenta joined the team in 1999 and to the present day continues to deliver, design, manage and direct projects. Sarah now heads Social Fabric which continues the legacy of Cloth of Gold in London and the South East.
We find that experience is the best teacher and our experience is well documented in past Cloth of Gold projects which can be viewed on our archive site here.
Tony Minnion now operates from Cornwall as Cloth of Gold South West. Find out more about their work here.
Anna Ferrie – Anna continues to develop her artistic practise. In the last 10 years she has focused on her painting alongside printmaking, drawing and sculpture.
Tony & Anna continue to collaborate with Social Fabric as do many of the artists, writers, teachers and creative folk we have collaborated with over the years.
We hope you have like looking at the new website & we hope to meet you again one day.
