Latimer Road PRU

Project Description

Latimer Road is a PRU with a very creative art department. The aim of the project was to teach new print making skills to staff and pupils at Latimer Road as well as to design a permanent piece of artwork for display in the school building. The project involved photography and print workshops and the final artwork reflected outcomes from both processes.

“Sarah Pimenta, a talented artist in her own right, creates wonderful work with groups of young people, who may normally be hard to engage and resistant. This has been a valuable step in enhancing their self-esteem and belief in themselves as creative individuals. Not only do they learn practical skills (eg screenprinting), but their joy and amazement in the finished product creates a positive and lasting memory of achievement, that spills over into other areas of their learning. Sarah’s clarity of delivery, her calm manner and enthusiasm for the work means she is a joy to work with. She has always delivered excellent results.”
